DukaCredit – Terms and Conditions of Use

Welcome to DukaCredit! These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the DukaCredit mobile/web application ("Platform") developed and operated by Dukafi PLC ("we", "us", "our").

By accessing or using the Platform, you agree to comply with and be legally bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.

1. Eligibility

• You must be at least 13 years old
• Be legally competent to contract under Ethiopian law
• Operate in Ethiopia and use the Platform for its intended purpose

2. Services

DukaCredit allows users to:

• Maintain a digital ledger for credit/debit transactions
• Send SMS reminders and payment notifications
• Generate and share payment requests or statements
• Track inventory and access business analytics

DukaCredit is not a financial institution and does not provide credit, lending, or banking services.

3. Account Creation and Onboarding

• Register using a valid Ethiopian phone number
• Provide accurate business and transaction details
• Maintain confidentiality of your login credentials

We may request additional documents for verification, in compliance with Ethiopian law.

4. User Obligations

Users agree to:

• Use the Platform lawfully for legitimate business purposes
• Ensure accuracy and integrity of inputted data
• Obtain consent before recording customer data

Users may not:

• Upload viruses or conduct cybercrimes
• Copy or resell content/software without permission

5. Data Privacy and Consent

DukaCredit complies with Ethiopian data protection regulations. We collect and process business data, device info, and usage behavior solely for service improvement. Customer data is used only for authorized notifications and requires prior consent.

6. Notifications & Third-Party Integrations

DukaCredit may integrate with SMS and payment providers. We do not store or request sensitive information like PINs or OTPs. You are responsible for protecting your third-party service credentials.

7. Fees and Charges

Core services are free. Premium features may incur fees, clearly stated in advance. Payments are made in Ethiopian Birr and comply with NBE currency laws.

8. Termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts for violations. Users may stop using the Platform at any time. Upon termination, you may request a copy of your data.

9. Limitation of Liability

Users are responsible for their records; optional backup features may be available.

10. Intellectual Property

All Platform content and trademarks are protected under Ethiopian and international law. Unauthorized use is prohibited.

11. Privacy and Data Protection

We may collect and process your data to deliver services. We do not sell your data. Third-party providers operate under confidentiality agreements. You may request data access, correction, or deletion by emailing info@dukacredit.com.

12. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of Ethiopia. Disputes will first be resolved amicably, then through arbitration in Addis Ababa as per Proclamation No. 1237/2021.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms and notify you through the app or SMS. Continued use indicates acceptance of the updated Terms.
